In 1893 Jean Baptiste Peyrot first started caring for the Peyrot vineyard, which has since become known as ‘Les Bergeronnettes’. His daughter, Mathilde Peyrot-Barret took charge of the humble seven-acre vineyard in 1956, upgraded the still in 1967 and one year later created this 1968 vintage Cognac. It spent 55 long years maturing in a single French oak cask from the Limousin forest, prior to being bottled ‘brut de fut’ (natural cask strength).
